It didn't start with fireworks. It started with a conversation neither of us wanted to end — the kind where you look up and hours have gone somewhere, and you're already looking forward to the next one.
We took our time. We learned each other slowly: the way she laughs before the punchline, the way he goes quiet when he's about to say something that matters. We learned that love isn't only the easy days — it's who is still standing there on the hard ones.
Somewhere along the way, staying together stopped feeling like a decision and started feeling like home. We built a life out of ordinary evenings and long drives and plans we kept making for a future we could both already see.
So on January 18th we're doing the only thing left to do: saying it out loud, in front of the people who have loved us into who we are.
